Our Founder

Mr. Shitab Elahi is a practising counsellor and a special educator for the past 15 years. He proudly followed the footsteps of his elder brothers who themselves are special educators working in a reputed school in the United States of America. He has done his bachelors in special education with specialisation in Autism spectrum disorder and Intellectual Disability, he went on to become his masters in psychology and a post graduate diploma in guidance and counselling. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Psychology.

Through the myriads of magical and fulfilling experiences, Mr Shitab feels that he has developed empathy over the years and can connect to children and their families. In doing so, he hopes to make a difference, however little, in their lives.

PROACTIVE : A MULTIDISCIPLINARY ACTION FOUNDATION was developed in year 2012 to fulfill his dream by forming a br team
of professionals under one roof with one philosophy.

The idea of Proactive was conceived in 2009 by Shitab Elahi, when he was working as a special educator in a clinical setup. After 2 years when he was working in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan he finally gave up his job as a special educator and thus Proactive was born. Since then he worked with children whose special needs were varied whether it’s academic performance, physical performance or social adaptability.
